Abbey Bominable Monster High Halloween Makeup Tutorial 2017 | Lillee Jean

Abbey is considered a blunt ghoul at Monster High. Daughter of the Yeti, or Abominable Snowman, Abbey is truly a one-of-a-kind character! She totally makes us all go, “OH MY RA!”. Personally, she had me at her snowy fuzz boots and pet named Shiver. Here is my adaption of the character with an upper body of makeup, and a few little fuzzy props here and there! It’s actually much simpler than you beauties might think, so do read along to see how I created Abbey Bominable :).

First things first, the complexion! Abbey has a light blue skin tone, with “glitter” specks around her forehead area, and slightly on her cheeks. Slowing down, let’s go back to the blue skin! To achieve that ghoulish glow I first drew on a few white lines across the main zones of my face with Nyx’s Jumbo Eye Pencil in Milk. Pictured above is the layout! The reason for this is that the blending outcome will appear much more natural, as opposed to just a flat blue tinge since no-one has matte skin, not even Abbey! Plus the fact, with the product I used, the color would adjust more to my liking. Speaking of that product, whipping out Suva Beauty’s Matte Hydra Liner in Snow Queen, I added a droplet of water to the liner as directed, mixed the water-activated product into a sleek blue liquid with Elf’s Stippling brush, and then I began lightly buffing the product into my skin. It’s best to use blunt stipples, rather huge circular blends, this way pigment would be concentrated, and much easier to handle. Trust me, having splotchy and broken-up skin from poor blending makes the world collapse for anyone! Be sure to drag the product down to your neck, and on your shoulders, unless you’re planning on literally wearing a fluffy coat covering your body.

Alright, by this point you should be BLUE! Even if you have a sheer tinge of your skin color showing below, fret not we now move onto the eyeshadows. First, using Candy Crush by Sugarpill Cosmetics, and Mac’s 168 Angled Contour Brush, I gently swirled the icy blue hue across my cheekbones, and down the bridge of my nose! I continued packing on the pigment until I achieved a viable, and “balanced” complexion. The Suva Beauty Hydra Liner dries to an EXTREMELY matte finish, hence why I had to add a bit of dimension with glow products. Now using Platinum Angel by BeautyBarBaby, I went

over Candy Crush precisely, with my fingers, and gently smudged in the pure silver highlighter to reflect light better! I kept Platinum Angel on my brow bones, and mainly on the sides of my nose. Before moving along, I picked up Nyx’s Jumbo Eye Pencil in Milk once more, and created little dots on my forehead, to represent the glitter flecks!

Eyebrow time!!!!! Abbey rocks some pretty fabulous purple brows, so I figured, why not do the same and be ghoulllltastic?! I used Sugarpill’s Poison Plum, and filled my brows in just as I normally would. To my luck, Abbey and I share the same brow arch! If you’re having trouble constructing the eyebrows, imagine the inner corners being thickest, the center medium-sized, and the tail end SUPER thin! Like an obtuse upside-down V. If it helps, I suggest looking at Abbey upside down! Hehe! As far as eyeshadow goes, Abbey wears a beautiful magenta pink brush over, with a light lavender on her eyelids. To replicate this, I used Hotsy Totsy by Sugarpill and very gently blended the color into my crease using a fluffy Morphe E22. Since Abbey only wears TWO colors, I tried my best to begin with a light coating, then a secondary HEAVY coating to form a contour on the eye sockets! Dimension is EVERYTHING when bringing cartoons to life. The second lid color was Frostine by Sugarpill and I dusted the color across my lids, and very lightly on my lower lash lines. Here, I connected Hotsy Totsy and Frostine! Finishing up the eyes, I applied Nyx’s Jumbo Eye Pencil in Black Bean to my waterlines, and upper lash lines, applied Urban Decay’s Perversion Mascara, and plopped on some Huda Beauty Scarlett False Eyelashes. I highly suggest for an exact duplicate of a makeup look to use the falsies, since Ms. Bominable rocks them herself!
