Dermalogica Smart RESPONSE Serum Mini Review | Lillee Jean
Hi Jeaniez, and welcome back!! Today's mini-review will be on the new Dermalogica® Smart RESPONSE Serum, which retails for $135.00 online.
According to Dermalogica, which is one of my FAVE brands for redness, this serum "helps skin to maintain optimal hydration levels; [it] brightens and helps reduce the appearance of dark spots; helps to soothe and reduce the appearance of redness; [and] Helps improve the look of fine lines and wrinkles."
For me, my main concerns reside around sensitivity and redness! While I cannot long-term review this skincare product as it just launched yesterday, I can tell you the main key points I found beneficial within a day of testing (I tend to react rather quickly).
HOW IT WORKS
Upon first views, the packaging reminds me of "spa-grade", or "sophisticated" HIGH-END skincare. Something a dermatologist or a skin expert would carry! The package is lightweight, but not too flimsy, and really says, "I WILL CREATE IMPACT." Chrome packaging tends to send a very "strong" message, consumer perspective-wise. Which, is reassuring!
Upon opening, the scent is rather light, almost like a faint cherry, but nothing too overpowering. What intrigued me most is the SmartResponse technology feature that "helps stop skin damage before it starts."
Oligosaccharides from hydrolyzed Beta Glucan respond to dehydration signals, helping skin to maintain optimal hydration levels. Hydrolyzed Wheat Flour, rich in arabinoxylo-oligosaccharides, activates as needed to brighten and help reduce the appearance of dark spots. Antioxidant-rich Japanese Cornelia Cherry helps to protect stressed skin against free radicals, helping to soothe and reduce the appearance of redness. Plant-based Mannose-6-Phosphate visibly smooths and provides a firming effect, responding to the first signs of visible skin aging to help improve the look of fine lines and wrinkles. - Dermalogica
During the first application, after a gentle exfoliation with Bliss Jelly, I found the serum to yield a GORGEOUS glow. Not too tacky, not oily, just beautiful, and bright. You know that look you get when you apply Milk Makeup Kush Primer? Where your skin looks like "glass skin?" I suppose that's the best way to put it. GLASS.
Non-irritating, glowy, and just BEAUTIFUL. As the day continued on I had no apparent little splotches, redness, nor breakout. Just a glow that truly lasted. I will be updating this soon with a more long-term effect description! As I use the product in my videos I will link them here too!
