Dramatic Deep Green & Bright Copper Smokey Eyes
Hey, Jeaniez! What a hectic few days it has been. Between the devastation in Texas, and me running around planning the months ahead, I am a worrrnn Lilz! Generally when I get this way I enjoy experimenting with unusual color combinations. In today’s instance, I paired orange and green! The back story behind this look is quite funny so do continue reading on xoxo.
About three days ago my mom and I were at Rite Aid looking for some FRESH Autumn hues! We both were a little turned off by the new makeup posters until we saw this BEAUTIFUL and gleaming eyeshadow palette by Maybelline. OOOHF I swooned! You guys are probably unaware, but BLACK is too harsh for my skin, yet a dark blue black, green black, or even purple black is suitable…kinda weird, I know. Anyhow, I passed up on the palette saying to my mom, “nahh I have enough forest greens and I need some diversity with blues”. WELL! We went back to the store yesterday and as it is, the palette showed up in my cart for checkout. Ooooh you sneaky mumsy! Leading up to today, momma knows best as they say because the shadows in the palette really made my eyes POP like big marbles. Fast forwarding to right now, details to this makeup look can be found below in list format! Enjoy, and know that I am sending my consent love to those in Texas, and in any areas being affected by Hurrican Harvey!
Shea Moisture – 100% Extra Virgin Coconut Oil
Foundation is a custom blend, I produced
(used to spot conceal, not as an all over base)
Nyx Cosmetics – Matte Lipstick, Sable
Anastasia Beverly Hills – Dipbrow Pomade, Blonde
Maybelline – City Mini Eyeshadow Palette, Urban Jungle: Liner shade (deepest green applied to lids and smoked up towards the crease and down towards the lower lash lines), Lid shade 2 (the sparkly mossy green gently patted towards the inner corners of my eyes for a glittery green effect), Highlight shade (brow bones, inner corners)
Sugarpill – Loose Eyeshadow, Penelope (lower lash lines applied DAMP)
NYX Cosmetics – Jumbo Eye Pencil, Black Bean
Black bean was taken across my waterlines, and up across my upper lash lines! I prefer to smoke things out with a black eye pencil, but you can use an eyeshadow for a matter finish.
L’Oreal Makeup – Voluminous Carbon Black Volume Building Mascara
