Valentine’s Day: Sweet Shimmery Blue Reflects Silver Smokey Eye Makeup Tutorial | Morphe Brush

Happy Tuesday love bunnies! Instead of another basic makeup look, I decided to switch things up with a color combination I haven’t done in quite some time, blue, with a reflect of silver. This blog post will be a quicky, but make no mistake, everything done is explained below in the most concise mannerism possible. I figure that some of you cuties MIGHT do this look for special occasions, and would hate to read through an essay essentially– the meat, has been cut down to sentences. Enjoy XOXO :)!

Do be noted, as a disclaimer, ALL products were purchased with my own money, anything stated below is MY opinion, and all photos are raw, with minor touch ups of a lighting change, sharpness enhancement or a saturation enhancement. These factors DO NOT physically change the construct of each photo, they make it so you loves can see em’ clearly! Acts of “blurring” are NEVER done. Skin, is skin. If my makeup is not up to par on the lens, then it is not something I shall introduce to you beauties, though this has never, and will be never the case. Information stated below is both cited, and from my own studies. NOTHING has been copied, everything is my ideas, or shared concepts.

To not include imagery of FALSE advertisement my skin type is dry/sensitive, and any redness, or scabs happen to be hives from sadly…my nerves. With that being said, product recommendations, and your ability to relate might fluctuation, so feel free to ALWAYS ask me questions, this way you don’t end up spending money on the wrong items (for example, I use coconut oil as a base to sooth my hives, but for others this can be too oily, and NOT affective in curing one’s acne, in which I don’t have. Hives come, and go, and can sometimes last only 3 hours, so again, always ask before actually investing in products).

Time to complete this tutorial: 22 Minutes (professionals/myself)

25 Minutes (beginners/ intermediate)

Shea Moisture – 100% Extra Virgin Coconut Oil

Jouer Cosmetics – Luminizing Moisture Tint, Pearl

Beauty Blender Pro

Blue shadow can be quite overpowering on some complexions, so it’s best to even things out beforehand, this way you don’t have to deal with redness peeping out and raining on your parade during photo time! With that said, pick your favorite primer and foundation, but make sure your skin looks natural, and supple– this look might be dramatic, but it still has a cutesy aspect to it. I personally chose my typical Shea Moisture Extra Virgin Coconut Oil as a priming base, and Jouer’s Luminizing Moisture Tint in the shade Pearl as a skin tone evener. Mind you, this has reflective pearls in it, so an addtional highlighter was NOT needed! By the same token, if you chose a matte finish, add a bit of dew to your skin with either an oil, or cream highlighter to ensure that fresh faced vibe is kept alive.

Bobbi Brown Cosmetics – Shimmer Gloss, Bellini

Be sure to keep the lips simple, and glossy! I know…a term we barley hear anymore, “GLOSSY”. Glossy lips are your best option, or a satin lip color with this sorta’ look, anything else will drag the soft and girly shadow down! I chose Bellini Shimmer Gloss by Bobbi Brown Cosmetics since it has a nice sheen to it, and is complimentary to the eye makeup above.

Mac Cosmetics – Eye Shadow Pro Pallet Refill Pan(s)

Brun (brows)

Adding vintage hats always lifts my spirits! Anyhow, I began the eye makeup with a gentle fill-in across my brows with Brun by Mac Cosmetics! I happened to have a little hormonal breakout goin’ on, so do excuse the un-even fill in. I didn’t realize at first that one eyebrow was harsher than the other!

Morphe Brushes – 35 Color Smokey Eye

Shade 27 (all over lids); Shade 26 (crease, lower lash line);

Shade 35 (definition); Shade 20 (inner corners)

M433 Morphe Brush; Morphe E22 Pointed Blender

Smokey eyes are simply AMAZING, because you can use only three shadows and achieve a look that appears so complex even pro’s get confuzzled! Keeping this simple, I started off by dusting Shade 26 across my lids, up into my crease, and below my lower lash line with a Morphe M433 Brush, then I delved into Shade 35 and nestled it right onto the outer thirds of my lids going right into the outer v with concentrated side to side blends. I gave everything a dusting with my cleaned Morphe E22 Pointed Blender Brush! Lid wise I dampened my ring finger in some water, then I smudged into Shade 27 to only firmly pat the daring blue across my lids, followed by Shade 20 place onto the inner corners of my eyes for an eye opening effect.

ColourPop Cosmetics – Creme Gel Liner, Prance

Ciate London – Wonderland Mascara

Huda Beauty – Classic False Eyelashes, Sasha

Finishing things up, I glided Prance liner by ColourPop across my waterlines, coated my natural lashes with Ciate’s Wonderland Mascara, and to sum things up I applied my favorite falsies by Huda Beauty in Sasha! Dramatic lashes are perfectly FINE, just make sure they’re fluffy, and spread out, rather dense and close together (the follicles)
